On September 30th, PUENTE Learning Center opened its doors for a Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration and Open House—an evening of celebration, connection, and a closer look at the work happening across our campus.
The evening brought newcomers to PUENTE together with longtime supporters and partners through activities that celebrated Hispanic culture and created opportunities to connect. Guests enjoyed drinks and light bites from local restaurant MX 3030, took part in a lively game of lotería, and experienced a vibrant performance from Ballet Folklórico Resurrección. The evening’s program included a testimonial from PUENTE Charter Parent Nayeli Romero as well as remarks from PUENTE Board Chair Dana Ontiveros and PUENTE CEO Jerome Greening.

For PUENTE, the event was especially meaningful because our work is rooted in Boyle Heights and in supporting families across generations. Our students and families bring their cultures, languages, traditions, and experiences with them into our classrooms every day. Hispanic Heritage Month gives us another opportunity to recognize and celebrate those contributions.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special evening and helped us celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. We are proud to celebrate our community, our students, and the many cultures and traditions that are part of PUENTE.
