Online Summer Programs


K – 6th Virtual Summer Camp

PUENTE Summer Virtual Camp is FREE and open to PUENTE students K – 3 and neighborhood children grades 4 – 6. The program offers four weeks – July 6 thru July 31, 2020 – of stimulating activities to provide continuity of learning through the summer.

Kind Kinders
10 am – 11 am M-F  Instructor: Ms. Hernandez
Students will practice letters, sounds, numbers, shapes, and color recognition. Teacher will provide activities in social and emotional learning in preparation for Kindergarten. Found materials art projects and song and dance provide the fun!

1st Grade: Amazing Maps
11 am – 12 pm M-F  Instructor: Ms. Torres
Learn about all kinds of maps through reading, math, writing, and fun art projects. Children will discover how to use a compass, find their home on a map, learn fun facts about their city, state, and other points of interest. Students will use their new mapping skills to make pirate and treasure maps.

2nd Grade: Magical Mystery Tour
1 pm – 2 pm M-F Instructor: Mr. Salguero
Students will unlock the mysteries of science, math, and history through the Magic School Bus and Magic Tree House books. Science, art, and creative writing projects will bring these mysteries to life.

3rd Grade: We’ve Got Dirt
9 am – 10 am M-F Instructor: Mr. Chavez
What is the Earth made of? What is in the ground we walk on? Students will learn the materials that make-up dirt and the layers of the Earth through videos, readings, art, and science lessons.

4th – 6th Grade: Things that Go
10 am – 11 am M-F  Instructor: Ms. Garcia
During this exciting and educational adventure, students will learn about the power that makes things go. What is the force behind machines? Students will design and test force and momentum with at-home materials.
