Graduation season is exciting for all of us at PUENTE Learning Center, but it is even more exciting for the six recipients of 2021 PUENTE scholarships. This year, we were able to award $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors who attend our partner schools, Mendez High School and Roybal Learning Center. The scholarships will help our students to cover basic needs, such as housing or textbooks, during their first year of college.

For the class of 2021, it has been a different end to their high school journey than they could have anticipated. This year, students have been concerned about graduating and getting financial aid, all while helping to support their families during COVID-19.

From assisting with one-on-one case management to college tours, leadership training, and PUENTE internships, we make sure our high school seniors feel supported as they look ahead towards college.

The 2021 PUENTE Scholarship is given to students who have demonstrated a track record of achievement as well as the potential to be engaged in their communities after graduation. These students are our future, and they are ready to make a positive impact on the world.
