ESL Student Features – First Days at PUENTE

PUENTE Learning Center has had the opportunity to offer in class instruction to the Boyle Heights community since its inception in 1985.  Today, we serve the adult community through English as a Second language courses (ESL), computer literacy classes, career readiness and high school diploma classes.

“My first day at PUENTE was unforgettable. I was nervous, but my students made me feel great. I have learned that my students love to learn. I came to class for my students every day. To make my dreams come true, I am going to continue working at PUENTE and stay in contact with my students.”

Each year our students not only walk away with a wealth of knowledge and new life-long friendships, but also have a huge impact on all of our lives at PUENTE.

A special thank you to all of our PUENTE Learning Center staff and community supporters who make our programs possible, and help our students achieve their life-long goals!
